Serving Customers Across Cultures Isn't Easy. That's Why We Built Laila.
When I was in Dubai recently, one thing struck me again and again; how deeply businesses rely on WhatsApp to connect with customers. In the Middle East, WhatsApp isn't just a messaging app, it's a lifeline between brand and customer. But behind those green chat bubbles, many companies rely on low-paid staff to man the channels. The result? High availability, yes, but often poor customer experience.
Now imagine the challenge for businesses with customers spread across borders e.g. Paris, Berlin, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh. Multiple languages. Multiple dialects. Multiple cultural expectations. It's hard enough to find great staff, but finding staff who understand the nuance of how a French customer expects to be greeted versus an Emirati versus a Berliner? That's nearly impossible at scale.
This is the problem we've been building Laila to solve.
Laila is available 24/7. She speaks pretty much all the languages. More importantly, she learns the cultural and relational nuances that make a customer feel understood. In the UAE, only about 10% of the population is Emirati. Of the two million Arabic speakers, there are multiple dialects. Laila is capable of recognising which dialect a customer is using and adapting her tone and responses to match. That's not just translation, that's connection.
The same holds true in Europe. A French customer expects a different kind of warmth and formality than a German customer. Laila doesn't just know this, she adapts to it. Over time, she builds a relationship with each customer, learning what they value, what they've asked for before, and how best to support them.
For any business with a geographically and culturally diverse customer base, this is more than a "nice to have." It's a strategic advantage. When customers feel seen, understood, and respected in their own cultural context, they buy more, they stay longer, and they recommend your brand.
That's the strength of Laila. She doesn't just answer questions. She scales relationships. Across languages and cultures.
